"Freedom Summer - A Quest for Social Justice" marked the 50th anniversary of Freedom Summer. While playing the game, students traverse Miami University's Western campus and travel back in time to 1964, where they will experience the history of Freedom Summer. The prototype was funded by the NEH, and ended being developed in ARIS through an iterative game design process. in collaboration with Ann Elizabeth Armstrong and Elias Tzoc, I led a team of students that did design work for this game, and ended up developing a mini-game for it in Gamemaker.

This video was made for a talk at the 2015 ARIS Summit and it's about the first year of an NEH Digital Humanities Start-Up Grant, which aims to develop a prototype for a location-based game about Freedom Summer. More information about the project is available at http://fsgame.lib.miamioh.edu
